Clay Calhoun has a diverse range of experience in marketing and event management. Clay started their career in 1997 as an Account Coordinator at Octagon, where they supervised and implemented U.S. activity for the BMW Golf Cup International. Clay later became an Account Executive at Octagon, managing staff and overseeing various sponsorship programs.
In 1999, Clay joined Jack Morton Worldwide as a Promotions Manager, where they evaluated sponsorship opportunities and managed a team responsible for regional marketing support. Clay eventually became the Director of Sports & Event Marketing, overseeing the activation of over 100 annual events and managing promotional and experiential marketing activities for various brands in the Southeast Region.
Clay then transitioned to MELT Sports/Culinary/Entertainment as a Project Consultant in 2009 before moving to Experience Marketing Group, LLC as a Consultant the following year. Finally, they joined Martin Retail Group in 2010, first as a Senior Account Supervisor and then as the Director of Local Marketing Associations. No specific end dates were provided for their positions at Martin Retail Group.
Clay Calhoun attended The Lovett School from 1973 to 1988. After completing their secondary education, they enrolled at the University of Richmond from 1988 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.
