Kristy Smith has extensive experience in the healthcare field. Kristy began their career in 2006 as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Maine Medical Center, where they provided care for mentally ill patients in a closed unit setting. In 2011, they became a Registered Nurse at Maine Medical Center P6, specializing in geriatric psychiatry. Kristy managed and developed treatment plans for patients with dementia and mental illness.

In 2012, Kristy transitioned to the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at Maine Medical Center, where they worked as a Registered Nurse. Kristy cared for critically ill patients both pre and post open heart surgery, including those with various heart conditions. Kristy also had certification in working with patients directly post open heart and with Intraortic balloon pumps.

Kristy then joined Sweetser in 2014 as an ACT Registered Nurse, working with a team of six to care for fifty clients in an outpatient, in-home setting. Kristy managed medications, healthcare needs, mental health needs, and crisis management.

In 2016, Kristy returned to Maine Medical Center, this time in the Emergency department, where they worked as a Registered Nurse until 2018. Kristy provided urgent care and assistance to patients with various medical needs.

Most recently, Kristy worked at Martin's Point Health Care as a HEDIS Program Administrator. In this role, they were responsible for HEDIS reporting and operations management. Kristy worked closely with health plan directors to develop and implement strategic planning around HEDIS measures, interventions, and a HEDIS 365 strategy. Kristy ensured compliance with regulatory requirements from organizations such as NCQA, DHA, and CMS.

Kristy Smith's education history is as follows:

From 2004 to 2006, Kristy attended the University of Southern Maine and studied Psychology. During this time, they did not receive a degree.

In 2015, Kristy enrolled in Husson University and completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a focus on Registered Nursing.

Between 2007 and 2010, Kristy attended Southern Maine Community College and obtained an Associate's Degree in Nursing, specializing in Registered Nursing.

In 2017, Kristy returned to Husson University and pursued a degree in Family Practice Nurse/Nursing. This culminated in their obtaining a Master's in Family Practice Nurse/Nursing (FNP) degree, though the end year is unspecified.

Looking ahead, Kristy is set to further their education by pursuing a Master's in Data Science at the University of Southern Maine from 2022 to 2024.

In addition to their formal degrees, Kristy has also obtained various certifications. In May 2021, they completed a course named "Designing a Training Program: Setting Goals, Objectives, and Mediums" offered by LinkedIn. In March 2017, they obtained the ENPC certification. In January 2017, Kristy obtained the ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association. In September 2016, they obtained the TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification. Lastly, in May 2015, Kristy completed the American Heart Association's BLS (Basic Life Support) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certification through the American Medical Center/American Heart Institute.
