Abhay Shah

Abhay Shah has a wealth of experience in the energy and power industry. Abhay started their career in 1996 as a Trainee Engineer at Wartsila India, where they quickly progressed to become an Executive Field Service and Team Leader. In this role, they were responsible for troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of power plants.

Abhay then moved on to Wartsila India Ltd, where they worked as a Key Account Manager and Area Sales Manager for O&M Contracts. Abhay managed a customer base of over 700 MW and developed customized Operation & Maintenance solutions. Abhay also served as Manager - Technical Services, overseeing failure investigations, preventive maintenance, and internal/external audits of power plants.

In 2008, Abhay joined Ingersoll Rand India as Leader of Services Marketing and National Service Manager. In this position, they led a team of 75 people and transformed the company from a reactive services model to a proactive services-focused organization.

Abhay's next role was at Wartsila Singapore, where they served as Business Development - Power Plants. Abhay was responsible for market and business development, creating brand and solution awareness for Wartsila's power solutions in markets that were not accepting reciprocating power plants.

Abhay then joined APR Energy (Singapore) as Business Development and Sales Director for the Asia Pacific region. Their focus was on fast-track and temporary power plants, with key markets including Myanmar, Australia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

Abhay's most recent position was with Marubeni Corporation as Executive Vice President of Business Development. Abhay focused on renewable energy and gas/LNG to power projects in Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Pacific, and Northeast Asia. Abhay also had roles as Senior VP - Business (Project) Development for IPP and M&A.

Additionally, Abhay is a member of the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS).

Abhay Shah completed their MBA in Marketing from ICFAI between 2005 and 2007. Prior to that, they pursued a DME in Mechanical Engineering at K J Somaiya in Mumbai from 1993 to 1996. In addition, Abhay also obtained a certification as an Energy Auditor from BEE and pursued a BE in Industrial Engineering from IIIE. However, the start and end years for the Energy Auditor certification and the Industrial Engineering degree are not provided.
