Marius Schollmeier

Marius Schollmeier has worked in a variety of roles and companies throughout their career. Marius'smost recent position is as the VP of Fusion Experiments at Marvel Fusion, a company devoted to developing fusion energy technology. Prior to this, they worked at Sandia National Laboratories for 11 years, where they held several positions including Principal R&D Physicist, Senior Member of Technical Staff, and Post-Doc. During their time at Sandia, they worked on projects related to x-ray microscopy, time-resolved x-ray diffraction, laser-accelerated proton beams, and intense laser-plasma interaction. Before Sandia, Marius worked at the Institute for Nuclear Physics and the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in student assistant roles. Marius has a range of experience in physics and R&D, and has notably led several successful research projects throughout their career.

Marius Schollmeier received their high school diploma (Abitur) from Lessinggymnasium Lampertheim, Germany, in an unspecified year. Marius then attended Technische Universität Darmstadt, earning a Dipl.-Ing. Physik (Masters equivalent) in Physics Engineering and Hydrodynamics from 1998-2004. Marius went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from the same institution, completing the degree from 1998-2008. In 2016, they obtained a certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
