Janis Mayfield has extensive experience in the field of medical dosimetry, currently serving as a Medical Dosimetrist at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center since 2000. Previously, Janis worked at Tulane Medical Center from 1997 to 2000, contributing to the establishment of a new Radiation Oncology Department and participating in various research protocols. Janis began a career in medical technology at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in 1988 as a Radiation Therapist, transitioning to dosimetry in 1990 and obtaining CMD certification in 1994. Janis's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Health Arts from the University of St. Francis and certifications in radiologic technology from Mercy Hospital and Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
