Bill Sheridan has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Bill began their career in 1991 as a Features Editor and Sunday Editor for The Hornell Evening Tribune. From 1995 to 1997, they worked as an Assistant Sports Editor for The Gaston Gazette, followed by an Editor role at CBS Sportsline from 1997 to 1999. In 1999, they joined HCIA-Sachs as an E-marketing Manager before transitioning to their role as a Freelance Writer in 1999. As a Freelance Writer, they leveraged their experience in journalism and worked for various newspapers and sports-oriented websites. Bill has been associated with the Maryland Association of CPAs since 2000, initially as a Chief Communications Officer, where they are responsible for editing all print and web content and creating new content for members through articles, newsletters, blogs, and podcasts. Throughout their career, Bill Sheridan has demonstrated their expertise in communication and content creation.
Bill Sheridan, CAE, CPT completed their Bachelor's degree in Communication from the University at Buffalo, where they studied from 1986 to 1990. In 2010, they obtained the Certified Association Executive (CAE) certification from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership. Additionally, in August 2017, they obtained the Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

The MACPA is responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports the CPA profession and, ultimately, the U.S. capital markets. Our members represent sole practitioners who working with CPAs on Main Street, Big 4 accounting firms working internationally, CPAs serving as CFOs of public and private companies, controllers, accounting staff, educators, and government finance professionals.
