Nia Newton

Nia Newton, J.D., currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Business Development and Management at the Maryland Aviation Administration, overseeing three divisions and reporting to the Chief of BDM since March 2025. Previously, Nia held the position of Chief Legal Officer at Fraport USA from May 2022 to November 2024, where responsibilities included managing the legal department, ensuring corporate compliance, and collaborating with executive leadership on corporate strategy. Nia's earlier roles include Corporate Counsel at HMSHost, Counsel Corporate at the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, and Associate at Nixon Peabody LLP, focusing on various aspects of corporate law, franchising, and contract negotiation. Nia received a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Spelman College.
