Ashanti Martinez

Ashanti Martinez currently serves as a State Delegate for the Maryland House of Delegates since February 2023. Prior to this role, Ashanti worked as a County Council Communications Specialist for Prince George's County and as Chief of Staff for the Council District 7 Office. Experience also includes serving as a Research and Policy Analyst at CASA, where representation was made for immigrant advocacy at the county councils. Additional positions held include Constituent Services Specialist for Councilmember Thomas E. Dernoga, Campaign Manager for Vote Vivian Flowers, and Candidate for Maryland State Delegate under Martinez for Delegate. Ashanti's political journey began with leadership roles at Howard University, including serving as Resident Assistant and Campaign Director for the College Democrats of America. Ashanti holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government from Howard University.
