Laurence Arcadias

Laurence Arcadias is a PhD Candidate at the Transart Institute, LJMU, since September 2023, and has served as Teaching Faculty and Chair of the Animation Department at the Maryland Institute College of Art since August 2006. Responsibilities include ensuring the excellence of the departmental educational program, strategic planning, curriculum management, and communication with faculty and administrative offices. Previous experience includes roles as an animation lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley, freelance work as a graphic facilitator and animator at IDEO, and interaction design at Kodak. Additional positions include Senior Animator and Art Director at Illumina and Purple Moon, animator at Wired Digital and Berkley Systems, and an animator in residence at Apple Computer. Laurence Arcadias holds a DNSEP in film-animation from IAV-Orléans, completed between 1978 and 1982.
