Katherine Mencarini

Katherine Mencarini is an experienced planner currently serving as Planner IV in the Upcounty Division at the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission since July 2024. With a strong focus on transportation planning, Katherine previously worked as a Planner Coordinator at the Montgomery County Planning Department from January 2020 to November 2024 and served as a Senior Transportation Planner at the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission from September 2016 to January 2020. Katherine's background includes managing transportation planning for the City of Rockville as a Senior Transportation Planner between June 2014 and September 2016, where significant work included the development of the Transportation Element of "Rockville 2040." Additionally, Katherine has experience as a Transportation Planner at Toole Design Group from March 2008 to June 2014 and as a City Planner I for the City of Rockville from May 2005 to March 2008. Katherine holds a Master's degree in Planning from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor's degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Mary Washington.
