Leadership Team

About

The Maryland School for the Blind has a long and storied history, dating back to 1839. The school has been led by a number of different individuals over the years, all of whom have been dedicated to providing quality education for the blind and visually impaired. Some of the more notable leaders include Education Director William Stokes, who oversaw the school's transition from a traditional educational institution to a modern day one; Principal Thomas Clingman, who helped the school to become one of the leading schools for the deaf and blind in the country; and current Principal Dr. Deborah Kumm, who has continued the tradition of excellence established by her predecessors.
