Dara Koppelman, EVP of Health Services and Programs, joined the Mary’s Center team in May 2012, where she initially worked as a Nurse Manager at the Georgia Avenue clinic before becoming Chief Nursing Officer in January 2014. Prior to coming to Mary’s Center, she had experience in both the hospital setting as well as the public health field, working in labor & delivery and then at a local health department doing home visits for high-risk pregnant women and children. Originally from New York, she spent time abroad, doing volunteer work in a community center and farmer’s cooperative in Costa Rica, and studying the Spanish language in Spain. Her nursing interests include public health nursing, women’s health, nursing leadership, working with underserved populations, and teaching and mentoring nursing students.
