Mary Beth McCarthy

Mary Beth McCarthy is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the medical field, currently serving as a Contractor in the Department of Sports Medicine at Mass General Brigham since April 2023. McCarthy has been a Research Associate in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Connecticut Health Center since January 1980, specializing in the biomechanical challenges of rotator cuff repairs. In this role, McCarthy utilizes defined in vitro systems to investigate cellular responses to innovative biomaterials to improve clinical outcomes. McCarthy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Central Connecticut State University, earned between 1975 and 1979.
