Keith Starr

Keith is a Consultant on Mass Insight’s School Improvement Team. Keith is currently supporting partners in Evansville, Indiana by planning and operationalizing changes to their alternative schools in order to meet the unique needs of students and their families. Prior to joining Mass Insight, Keith worked over the last decade as an assistant principal and then co-school leader of KIPP Pride High School in Gaston, NC. During that time, he worked alongside his staff to ensure that 100% of each of the senior classes earned acceptance to at least one four-year university, helping to change the narrative of what is possible in rural, public education. He also helped to lead the increase in access to AP courses at the high school for all students, ensuring that they were participating in a truly college-preparatory program. Keith began his career in education as a high school science teacher in rural eastern NC and later founded the AP Physics program at the KIPP school he would later lead. Keith holds a M. Ed. from National Louis University and a B.S. in Physics from Denison University.
