Christopher Hart serves as the Deputy Director of Inclusive Design and Engineering at MBTA since July 2019 and has been a Public Member - Presidential Appointee for the US Access Board since August 2011. With extensive experience as a subject matter expert, Hart has provided consulting on accessibility and universal design since 2006, working with various public and private entities. Hart previously functioned as a Technical Advisor for the BCIL/MBTA Settlement from 2006 to 2019, focusing on the implementation of accessible station plans and ADA compliance. As the Director of Urban & Transportation Projects at the Institute of Human Centered Design from 2000 to 2014, Hart led initiatives for universally designed environments in Boston. Earlier career highlights include co-founding Just Board LLP and serving as a Fixed Route Accessibility Monitor for MBTA. Hart holds a Bachelor's degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning and a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Community Planning from UMass Boston.
