Kelly Chronley EIT, TSSP has a diverse work experience in the fields of transportation planning/engineering and transportation safety.

Starting in 2004, Kelly worked as an Aviation Intern at Jacobs Engineering, where they assisted in runway and taxiway design for airport projects. They also provided quantity estimates for these projects.

From 2009 to 2015, Kelly worked as a Transportation Planner/Engineer at Howard/Stein-Hudson Associates, Inc. They conducted field visits to collect data on roadways and used traffic modeling software to analyze existing roadway operations. They also predicted future roadway conditions and assessed transportation needs for private development projects in Boston and surrounding communities.

In 2016, Kelly joined the MBTA as a System Safety Analyst. They then progressed to roles such as Deputy Director of Safety Oversight and Planning and Director of Transportation Safety. In these positions, Kelly supervised teams responsible for employee safety reporting, regulatory compliance, safety data analysis, safety training, inspections, audits, and safety promotional activities. They also served as the main point of contact for the State Safety Oversight Agency (SSOA) regarding regulatory compliance.

Kelly became the Deputy Director of Fare Programs in 2021, overseeing fare program strategies, and later served as the Director of Fare Programs and Strategy. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Director of Quality, Compliance, & Oversight, where they are responsible for overseeing quality, compliance, and oversight in the MBTA.

Kelly Chronley EIT, TSSP (Bus , Rail) holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Northeastern University, which was obtained from 2003 to 2008. Prior to this, Kelly attended Narragansett High School. In terms of additional certifications, Kelly has obtained the Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross in April 2015. Furthermore, Kelly has also obtained the Engineer in Training certification from the Board of Registration of Professional Engineers and Surveyors in 2007.
