Loay Abdelkarim is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Manager of Engineering Design at MBTA since 2012. With a solid foundation in structural engineering, Loay previously worked at Arup as an Engineer, and held senior positions including Senior Bridge Structural Engineer at Walker Parking Consultants and Senior Project Engineer at RK&K. Loay began a career in engineering at Parsons as a Senior Bridge Engineer, contributing to the design of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Civil Engineering from the University of Khartoum, complemented by an International Baccalaureate from UWC Atlantic College.
