Melissa Young

Melissa Young, MHA, RHIT, serves as the President of the Massachusetts Health Information Management Association (MaHIMA) since June 2019, where responsibilities include managing and developing coding education programs. Currently, Melissa holds the position of Senior Director of Enterprise Coding at Centura Health, having previously served as Director of Enterprise Coding and Director of Coding Service Center. Melissa has been an Editorial Advisory Board Member for the American Hospital Association's Coding Clinic for ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS since January 2022. Other notable roles include improvement initiatives at UC San Diego Health, impact-driven positions at Boston Medical Center, collaborations at Hospital Sisters Health System, educational contributions at Peak Health Solutions, and key leadership roles at Texas Health Resources. Melissa earned a Master of Health Administration from Bellevue University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from the University of Cincinnati.
