Courtney McDonald is an undergraduate student at Boston College, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, English, and Hispanic Studies. Currently, Courtney serves as a Potencia Volunteer, providing English tutoring and creating lesson plans for immigrants, and as a MIRA Volunteer, assisting immigrants with citizenship applications. Additionally, Courtney works as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, focusing on the causes of emigration from Southern Ireland in the late 19th century. Previous experience includes a Summer Outreach Internship at Centro de los Derechos del Migrante, where research on labor rights was conducted, and various roles in the healthcare and retail sectors, including an Ophthalmic Technician and a Specialty Sales team member at Target. Academic achievements include graduating Salutatorian from Notre Dame High School in Salinas, CA.

MIRA is a dynamic, multi-ethnic, multi-racial coalition that actively involves hundreds of grassroots immigrant organizations, human services agencies, legal service providers, religious groups, and human rights groups in cooperative efforts to improve the lives of immigrants and refugees.
