Chris Tavares, MS, MBA, serves as a Senior Radiation Safety Specialist and Assistant RSO at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where responsibilities include overseeing laser safety across numerous labs and managing RF, X-Ray, and magnetic field safety programs. Prior to this role, Chris held various positions at MIT from June 1999 to 2014, including Officer of the Radiation Protection Program, managing medical and radioactive waste programs, and supervising EHS technicians.
