Francis Hon

Francis Hon currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Piano at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, teaching classical, jazz/pop piano, and composition applied lessons for music major students since September 2023. With extensive experience as a Pianist and Arranger at SoundBetter since June 2020, Francis composes and records piano arrangements for global clients. As an Official Steinway Educational Partner with recognition as Top Piano Teacher 2024 by Steinway Hall NYC, Francis curates annual studio recitals and engages with students through workshops and masterclasses. Additionally, Francis has been an instructor of piano and music theory on Thumbtack since September 2017, achieving “Top Pro” status from 2018 to 2021. Earlier experience includes teaching pop/jazz piano to non-music majors at New York University in 2016-2017. Francis holds advanced degrees in music, including a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from New York University.
