Thomas Hoole

Chief Procurement Officer at Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2)

Tom Hoole is the Chief Procurement Officer. He is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of University procurement activity including Purchasing and Strategic Contracts, Accounts Payable, ProCard, and Asset Management.

Tom brings over 26 years of Higher Ed procurement and managerial experience with over 18 years at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) prior to joining the UMass Lowell team. During his career Tom has been recognized as a leader in establishing successful eCommerce, Purchasing Card and data rationalization programs and has been asked to speak on these and other subjects to both national and international audiences.

Tom holds an MBA from Suffolk University, bachelor’s degree from UMass Dartmouth and graduated from MIT’s Employee Leadership Program. Tom has continued his professional development achieving his Lifetime Certified Purchasing Manager (L.C.P.M.) and his Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Officer (MCPPO).
