Katie Callahan is a licensed independent clinical social worker and certified in dialectical behavior therapy, with extensive experience in social work and mental health services. As the founder of Growing Roots to Open Wings since January 2023, Katie focuses on creating permanency and building community connections for youth aging out of foster care. In addition to operating a private practice, Katie has worked with the Committee for Public Counsel Services and the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children as an adoption social worker. Previously, Katie served as the Regional Program Director at Eliot Community Human Services, leading the Children's Behavioral Health Initiative's therapeutic mentoring services for youth. Katie holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and Criminal Justice from UMass Boston.
