Richard Briggs is a seasoned law enforcement professional currently serving as a Lieutenant and Patrol Operations Commander at the Ashland Police Department since 2002. With a strong background in various police roles, including Acting Chief of Police and Patrol Supervisor, Richard assists the Chief of Police in budget management for the department. Additionally, Richard is a Mental Health Clinician and EMDR Therapist at On-Site Academy, focusing on trauma treatment for First Responders. Richard also serves as a Canine Search Specialist with the Massachusetts Urban Search and Rescue Team and is a peer support member of the Massachusetts District 14 Multidisciplinary CISM Team. Richard's extensive educational background includes two Master's degrees in Counseling Psychology and Public Administration, alongside a Graduate Certificate in Public Safety Leadership & Management and a Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement.

Massachusetts Task Force 1 (MA-TF 1) is one of 28 DHS/FEMA sponsored Urban Search and Rescue Teams. Sponsored by the City of Beverly, MA the team is comprised of volunteers from all 6 of the New England States. We have deployed to numerous natural and man-made disasters.
