Michael Lyons

Michael Lyons currently serves as the Chairperson of the Higher Ed Cybersecurity Coordinating Committee and has held the role of Assistant Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Massachusetts Bay Community College since October 2021. With extensive experience in IT leadership, Michael previously chaired the Massachusetts Public Higher Education Chief Information Officer Council and held various positions at the University of Massachusetts Boston, MassBay Community College, and other organizations. Michael holds a Master of Science in Information Technology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and has completed a fellowship at the Community College Leadership Academy. Additional qualifications include a Unix Administration Certificate from Boston University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from UMass Boston.
