Darragh Whelan

Darragh Whelan currently serves as Senior Vice President of Engineering at Mastercard, a position held since February 2025, after previously holding the role of Vice President of Engineering at Chime from April 2022 to February 2025, leading a team of 200 engineers across various domains. Prior experience at Mastercard includes serving as Vice President of Software Engineering, where oversight included architecture and strategy within decision management, as well as leading a research and development initiative focused on AI/ML capabilities. Darragh's extensive engineering background also includes roles at Oracle and Druid Software, beginning with a Software Engineer position at Oracle in 2009. Darragh obtained a BSc in Software Systems Development from Waterford Institute of Technology between 2007 and 2011.
