Julius Genachowski has held prominent leadership roles in both public and private sectors, with extensive expertise in technology, media, and telecommunications. They served as Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission from 2009 to 2013, where they developed the first U.S. National Broadband Plan and enhanced broadband access. Julius is currently a Senior Advisor to Carlyle, the Chairman of the Board of Sonos, and a member of the Board of Directors at Mastercard. Their previous experience includes law clerk positions at the U.S. Supreme Court and senior executive roles at IAC, along with national security advisory roles for the President. Julius graduated magna cum laude from both Harvard Law School and Columbia College and has taught at Harvard's Business and Law Schools.
