Kapil Kanbarkar is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in banking and digital solutions. Currently serving as Senior Vice President at Mastercard since June 2025, Kapil previously held significant roles at Barclays, where leadership included Head of Corporate Digital Banking for BX India and Director of Digital Channels Engineering. Prior to Barclays, Kapil was Distinguished Engineer and Chief Architect at HSBC, where a global API program for core banking was successfully launched. Additionally, as Co-Founder and CTO of Medibox, Kapil developed India’s first digital platform for pharmaceuticals and healthcare. Early career milestones include product management at IBM and key engineering roles at various tech firms, showcasing a strong background in software development and engineering transformation. Kapil holds an Executive Program in General Management from MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.E in Electronics and Communication from Karnatak University.
