Pooja Bhachu

Pooja Bhachu currently serves as a Commissioner for the Financial Inclusion Commission since June 2024. Previously, Pooja held multiple roles at Mastercard, ascending from Manager to Director of Public Policy for the UK and Ireland from January 2019 to present. Pooja's experience also includes serving as a Senior Associate in Stakeholder Engagement, Public Affairs, and Communications at the Payment Systems Regulator from September 2014 to December 2018, and as a Senior Public Affairs Advisor at the Payments Council from October 2012 to September 2014. Prior positions include Private Secretary to the Leader of the Council at Westminster City Council and Government Affairs Advisor at The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI). Pooja began the professional career in the Cabinet Office, working in the Government Chief Whip's Office from March 2007 to August 2010. Pooja holds a Master of Science in International Politics and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science, both from SOAS University of London.
