Richard E. Smith

Richard E. Smith is a seasoned legal executive serving as Senior Counsel for Cyber & Intelligence Solutions at Mastercard. With extensive experience in the insurance, health, consumer products, and legal sectors across the US and Asia, Richard has demonstrated expertise in negotiating complex international commercial transactions and managing regulatory compliance. Richard previously held the position of Senior Vice President and General Counsel at New York Life International, where they focused on market entry in emerging economies. Additionally, Richard has consulted with various companies on restructuring and compliance matters and was part of the legal team that expanded Quaker Oats in Asia. Richard is currently pursuing a BA in Political Science/International Relations from Saint Louis University, along with an Executive Program in Finance and Accounting at Columbia University, and a JD, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law.
