Jeffrey Pfeffer

Jeffrey Pfeffer is the Thomas D. Dee II Professor of Organizational Behavior at Stanford University, a position held since June 1979, where courses on human resource management, power and politics in organizations, and organizational behavior are taught to both MBA students and executives. In addition to a longstanding role at Stanford, Pfeffer serves as an instructor at MasterClass since August 2025 and has previously been a visiting professor at IESE Business School in 2006. Pfeffer's academic journey includes an Assistant to Associate Professor role at the University of California, Berkeley from July 1973 to July 1979. Pfeffer earned a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Stanford University and a Master of Science in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business.
