Jonathan Gagne has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries.

Jonathan began their career as an Outside Sales Representative at Ontario Energy Savings Corp from June 2003 to May 2006.

Following that, Jonathan worked as a Research Assistant at Carleton University from July 2006 to August 2008, where they focused on cognitive modeling and artificial intelligence, specifically in the realm of visual creativity and concept formation. Jonathan also published scientific research papers during this time.

Jonathan then joined the University of Waterloo as a Researcher in September 2008 and continued until January 2012. Here, they delved into machine learning, image processing, nonlinear filtering, motion capture, and computer vision, developing state-of-the-art machine intelligence.

In March 2012, Jonathan began working at OPIN Software Inc. as the Director of R&D. Their responsibilities included leading teams in research and development, project deployment, defining scope, negotiating goals with the CEO, planning research and implementation, identifying risks, training and motivating employees, scheduling and monitoring task execution, and ensuring quality assurance. Jonathan was also the primary investigator and developer for Project Spotlight, conducting research on search ranking algorithms, relevance feedback, and machine learning. Jonathan held this position until April 2015.

Finally, Jonathan joined Masterpiece Studio in February 2015 as the Chief Executive Officer, a position they currently hold.

Jonathan Gagne's education history begins with their enrollment at Heritage College in 2000, where they pursued studies in Pure & Applied Science. Jonathan then transferred to the University of Ottawa in 2001 to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Their time at the University of Ottawa lasted until 2004. In 2004, they attended the University of Ottawa again, this time completing a degree in Economics, which they finished in 2005. Subsequently, from 2005 to 2008, they attended Carleton University, earning a degree in Computational Cognitive Science, focusing on Cognitive Modeling and Machine Learning. Moving forward, they pursued a Master of Applied Science in System Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo from 2008 to 2012, specializing in Machine Learning, Sensor Fusion, Computer Vision, Intelligent Robotics, and Motion Capture. Most recently, they attended Stanford University from 2020 to 2022, where they obtained a Stanford Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate, focusing on Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
