Chief Creative Officer (CCO) at Masterpiece Studio

Rafi Nizam has extensive work experience in the creative industry. In 1999, they started as a Senior Designer at KBW Advertising before moving on to become a Design Director at Lexis Public Relations Inc in 2001. From 2006 to 2008, they served as the Head of Creative at Sony Pictures International, Spinnaker.

In 2008, they joined the BBC as the Director of Creative Development & Story, focusing on scripted and animated content until 2011. Following that, they worked at NBCUniversal Media, LLC as the Global Creative Director from 2011 to 2016, and then as the Vice President Creative, Global, Immersive Entertainment from 2016 to 2020.

From 2020 to present, Rafi has taken on various roles including Creative Consultant, Global, at Falcon & Storm, as well as Consulting Head of Story, IP & Franchise at Opis Group Limited. In 2020, they also became the Chief Creative Officer at Masterpiece Studio, where they contributed to building a user-friendly 3D content platform. Currently, Rafi serves as the SVP, Showrunner & Executive Producer at Lunar X, leading the creation of scripted animation for all ages and driving the development of global transmedia franchises. Additionally, they have pursued independent endeavors as an animator, director, and designer under the name Rafianimates since 2006.

Rafi Nizam's education history begins in 1997 when they completed a Foundation in Art program at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design. Following this, they attended Camberwell College of Art from 1998 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in Graphic Design. In 2001, Rafi pursued a Diploma in Film Production at Panico Films. Rafi furthered their studies at Animation Mentor in 2005-2006, where they completed a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Character Animation.
