Jared Cumming

Jared Cumming has a diverse and extensive work experience. Jared currently holds the position of Chief Scientific Officer at Matchpoint Therapeutics as well as the role of Entrepreneur In Residence at Atlas Venture, both starting in August 2022. Before that, they worked at LifeMine Therapeutics, where they served as the Senior Vice President of Drug Discovery from April 2021 to August 2022, and as the Senior Vice President and Head of Chemistry from September 2019 to April 2021.

Prior to their time at LifeMine Therapeutics, Jared had a significant tenure at Merck. Jared held various roles including Executive Director from December 2018 to August 2019, Director from August 2012 to December 2018, Associate Director from October 2011 to August 2012, and Senior Principal Scientist from 2009 to January 2012.

Before joining Merck, Jared worked at the Schering-Plough Research Institute as a Principal Scientist from 2001 to November 2009. Jared began their professional career as an NIH post-doctoral fellow at Stanford University, where they worked from 1997 to 2000.

Jared Cumming's education history begins with their Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry at Williams College, which they obtained from 1988 to 1992. Following this, they pursued a Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic and Medicinal Chemistry from The Johns Hopkins University between 1992 and 1997.
