Design Director at Matchstic

Brit Blankenship is the Design Director at Matchstic, a previous event producer and communications specialist for CreativeMornings, and has also worked with the University of Georgia - Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.

Brit has always been creative and driven to help others. When they were younger, they loved to put on plays for their family and friends in their backyard. This love for creativity and performance led their to study theatre in college. After college, Brit realized that they wanted to use their creativity and communications skills to help others in a different way - by producing events that would educate and inspire people.

For three years, Brit co-produced the Atlanta chapter of CreativeMornings, a monthly breakfast lecture series that is held in various cities around the world. Each month, 150+ cities gather to hear from local speakers on creativity and thematic topics. The Atlanta events ranged from 300-1000 attendees, and required extensive planning and execution. Brit was responsible for event communications, from overall communication strategy & voice and tone, to social media, to bi-monthly email newsletters and ticket sign up. Eventually, they trained several copywriting interns and adopted a role of oversight.

Creatively, Brit and their team reimagined the event tone, flow, ambiance, food, coffee, music, pre-state and on-stage activities, and overall CM / ATL branding for each event, tailored to the monthly theme. Brit also consistently managed and grew relationships with photography and videography partners. For two years, they managed a volunteer squadron, interns, and at times, CM partners. This role centered around CreativeMornings culture, event flow (parking, registration) and creative implementation. Brit and their team created several partnerships with local artists for instillations and customized activities.

During their time with CreativeMornings, Brit helped grow the community from 1,800 to 8,000+ registered platform users in 3 years. Brit also grew the CreativeMornings Instagram account from 100 followers to 16,000+, the Twitter account from 2K to 6,500K+, and the email subscriber list from 2,500 to 7,000.

Brit’s work with CreativeMornings led their to their current position as Design Director at Matchstic. In this role, they use their creativity and communications skills to help businesses reach their goals.

Brit Blankenship has a Bachelor of Journalism from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia, a Certificate of Photojournalism from New Media, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia - Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Brit also has an Art Theirtory degree from The University of Georgia at Cortona, where they studied Art Theirtory, Studio Art, Graphic Design, and Paper/Bookmaking.

They are on a team with Meghan Murray - Design Director, Andrew Del Risco - Office Manager, and Tracy Clark - Brand Strategy Director. Brit Blankenship reports to Craig Johnson, Founder & President.
