Early Head Start Director For Philadelphia County at Maternity Care Coalition

Jessica Smith has over 15 years of experience in early childhood development and education. Jessica began their career as an Infant Teacher at YMCA Early Head Start in 2006. In 2007, they joined Community Development Institute Head Start, where they worked as an Infant/Toddler Teacher and later as an Education/Disabilities Coordinator. In 2009, Jessica joined Maternity Care Coalition as an Early Childhood Development Coordinator and eventually became the Early Head Start Director for Philadelphia County in 2015. Jessica has a proven track record of working with young children and coordinating programs to support their development.

Jessica Smith has a Master of Science degree in Organizational and Strategic Leadership from Neumann University. Jessica also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary / Special Education from Temple University.

Since 1980, Maternity Care Coalition has assisted more than 145,000 families throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania, focusing particularly on neighborhoods with high rates of poverty, infant mortality, health disparities, and changing immigration patterns. We know a family’s needs change as they go through the pregnancy and their child’s first years and we offer a range of services and programs for every step along the way.
