Edward Brial has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Edward started their career as a Mechanical Engineering Industrial Placement at ROLI in 2013. Edward then worked as an Interaction Design and Design Engineer at Yuri Suzuki Ltd from September 2016 to October 2017.
In 2017, Edward joined DryGro as an Industrial Designer and Mechanical Engineer. Edward played a crucial role in designing innovative architectural elements and processing systems for their agricultural trial in Kenya. Edward also built and developed a network of manufacturers and suppliers on-site in Kenya. Edward left DryGro in March 2018.
From September 2017 to November 2018, Edward worked as a Senior Designer and Engineer at STUDIO INI LTD. Edward was involved in conceptualizing, designing, and engineering two major design installations. Additionally, they served as a project manager for installations in Saudi Arabia and Kolkata.
In 2018, Edward became the Chief Executive Officer at Materra, where they currently hold the position.
Edward's most recent work experience is as a Design Researcher at Imperial College London. Edward started in April 2019 and is still employed there, with an expected end date in January 2020.
Edward Brial has a diverse educational background. Edward began their educational journey in 2009 at the University of the Arts London, where they obtained a Foundation degree in Fine Art. Following this, Edward pursued their passion for engineering at Imperial College London from 2010 to 2014, earning a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Edward continued their studies at Imperial College London, simultaneously pursuing a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Global Innovation Design from 2014 to 2016. During this time, they also attended the Royal College of Art, where they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in the same field.

In 2015, they attended Keio University, where they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Global Innovation Design. Additionally, in 2014, Edward briefly attended Pratt Institute to further enhance their studies in Global Innovation Design.
