Math for America
Michele Stassfurth is an experienced mathematics educator currently serving as a Mathematics Teacher at North Plainfield Middle School and holding the title of Master Teacher Emeritus with Math for America. With a career that spans over a decade, Michele has actively participated in professional development and collaboration with fellow educators to enhance teaching practices in various capacities, including roles as a Master Teacher Fellow, Early Career Fellow, and independent contractor for the College Board. Michele developed and implemented curricula aligned with Common Core standards while teaching eighth-grade mathematics at the NYC Department of Education. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Mathematics Education from Teachers College at Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Delaware. Additionally, Michele’s expertise is recognized through contributions to the Amplify Educator Advisory Board.
