Math For America (mfa) Master Teacher Fellow at Math for America

Nathaniel Thayer Wight is an experienced educator and leader in the field of science and mathematics education. Currently serving as a Math for America (MfA) Master Teacher Fellow since July 2018 and a physics teacher at Beacon High School since August 2017, Nathaniel has also taught physics at the Bronx Design & Construction Academy and served as the Dean of Teaching & Learning for the NYC Department of Education. With a rich background that includes founding the Bronx Design & Construction Academy and holding numerous roles such as curriculum developer and mentor teacher, Nathaniel's expertise extends across various educational settings. A graduate of Columbia Engineering with a Master's in Environmental Engineering and a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology from Teachers College, Columbia University, Nathaniel also has a B.S. in Applied Physics from Linfield University. Prior experience includes working with the United States Peace Corps on sustainable community development projects.
