Rachel Kessous

Emeritus Master Teacher at Math for America

Rachel Kessous serves as the Math Department Chair and Math Teacher at the Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice since September 2018 and has held the position of Emeritus Master Teacher with Math for America since September 2014. Previously, Rachel Kessous worked at Richard R Green High School from 2009 to 2018 as a Teacher and Director of the Liberal Arts Academy, responsible for various leadership roles and curriculum development aligned with Common Core Standards. Rachel Kessous also taught at Washington Irving High School, where responsibilities included coordinating events for a law-themed learning community. Additional experience includes serving as a Field Visitor for NYC Teaching Fellows, managing a group home for Community Options, Inc., and participating as a Corps Member with AmeriCorps Alums. Rachel Kessous holds a Master of Arts in Education from Pace University and a Bachelor's degree in Fine and Studio Arts from Brandeis University.
