Math for America
Sarah Geist is an experienced educator currently serving as a Model Teacher for the NYC Department of Education since July 2013, selected through the Teacher Career Pathways program. With ten years of experience teaching mathematics at a public high school in Manhattan, Sarah specializes in Geometry, Algebra II, and Calculus. Concurrently, since June 2012, Sarah has worked as a Master Teacher with Math for America, having been a Teaching Fellow in 2012 and achieving the Master Teacher II+ designation in 2021. Prior roles include Junior Content Editor for Archipelago Learning and Student Teacher at Dallas ISD, as well as volunteer experience at the Interfaith Housing Coalition. Sarah holds a Master of Arts in Secondary Mathematics Education from The City College of New York and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Secondary Education from Southern Methodist University.
