Math for America
Zena Coles is an experienced education professional with a strong background in mathematics and teaching. Currently serving as a Grade Team Leader at the NYC Department of Education since September 2016, Zena has also contributed as a Math for America Teaching Fellow since June 2014. Previous roles include working as an Audio and Video Technician at the Richard B. Fisher Center for Performing Arts and as a Researcher's Assistant at Bard College's Faculty Secretaries Office. Zena began involvement in education as an Event Staff Member at Bard College and as an Intern with Creative Kids NYC, where skills in promoting student engagement were developed. Zena holds a Master’s Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from The City College of New York and two Bachelor's degrees in Mathematics from Bard College.
