Dr. Jan Janse van Rensburg

Dr. Jan Janse van Rensburg is a highly experienced engineering professional currently serving as a Principal Product Specialist for Simscape Multibody at MathWorks since July 2018, focusing on Physical Modelling across various industries, including Automotive and Aerospace. Prior to this role, Dr. Janse van Rensburg was a Principal Investigator for the Additive Manufacturing Research Group at North-West University from January 2010 to April 2018, specializing in Design for Additive Manufacturing and biomedical material research. Additionally, Dr. Jan Janse van Rensburg held several academic positions at the university, including Senior Lecturer and Programme Manager, overseeing the mechanical engineering curriculum and ECSA accreditation, as well as contributing to research on backup bearings for Active Magnetic Bearing systems. Dr. Janse van Rensburg's earlier experiences include work in additive manufacturing for the NWU Solar Car project and a position as a fitter and turner at TTN Engineering.
