John Booker

John Booker has a strong background in user experience research and design. John worked at MathWorks from 2008 to the present, starting as a User Experience Specialist and eventually becoming a Principal User Experience Researcher and Senior Team Lead. In their role, they managed a team of researchers and designers, providing them with resources, mentorship, and training. Prior to MathWorks, they worked at Kronos as a Usability/Software Engineer, where they split their time between development roles and user experience work. John also led the design group for 508 accessibility initiatives. John's work experience also includes a role as a Graduate Assistant at Virginia Tech in 2005. Overall, John has extensive experience in conducting research, designing interfaces, and leading teams in the field of user experience.

John Booker studied at Virginia Tech from 2000 to 2004, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science. John then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Human-Computer Interaction from Virginia Tech, which they completed from 2004 to 2008. In 2017, John received a certification in "Learning How to Learn: Powerful mental tools to help you master tough subjects (with Honors)" from Coursera.
