Kathy Tao

Kathy Tao is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in mechanical engineering and course development. They began their career at Allied Signal Aerospace as a Project Engineer before moving on to roles at Quantum Corporation and Maxtor Corporation, where they developed advanced FEA models. Kathy held the position of Mechanical Engineer at HGST, contributing to patents and the development of enterprise disk drive products, and later served as a Principal Engineer at Western Digital. Currently, they work as a Principal Online Course Developer at MathWorks while having recently completed an Applied Data Science program at MIT Professional Education. Kathy earned a Master of Science in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Applied Science from the California Institute of Technology.
