Ossi Saarela

Ossi Saarela is an experienced aerospace professional currently serving as the Space Segment Manager at MathWorks since March 2016, where responsibilities include partnering with aerospace customers to address technical computing, systems modeling, and software development needs. Prior to this role, Ossi worked at Boeing in various capacities for twelve years, including as a Senior Systems Engineer for the CST-100 Starliner and as the Fault and Autonomy Architect for the 502 Phoenix Satellite Product Line. Ossi also has experience as a Flight and Controls Engineer designing spacecraft autonomy systems and as a Flight Controller for the International Space Station with United Space Alliance. Earlier career experience includes working as a Systems Engineer at Boeing Rocketdyne, focusing on ISS hardware and software integration. Ossi holds a Master of Science in Astronautical Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science in Physics with departmental honors from UCLA.
