Alan R. Updyke

Alan Updyke is the Chief Operating Officer as Matrix Service Company. Prior to this position, Mr. Updyke served as Operations President, Matrix Service Company. Before that, he served subsidiary Matrix Service Inc. in multiple capacities-- most recently as President from February 2018 to September 2019. Prior to his presidency, he was the Senior Vice President, Operations for all Matrix Service Inc. operating divisions throughout the U.S. and Canada including Estimating, Project Controls, Business Development and Craft Recruiting. He joined Matrix Service Inc. as Vice President of Construction in July 2012. Before joining Matrix Service Inc. Mr. Updyke spent 17 years with Brinderson, most recently as President of Western Operations. In that role, Mr. Updyke was responsible for providing strategic leadership and management direction to four regional offices and all major capital construction projects. Before that, Mr. Updyke served in various management positions with Brinderson including Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President, Vice President of Construction, and Vice President of Business Development. Previous to that, Mr. Updyke held the General Managers position for Turner Industries overseeing West Coast Operations.
