Quader Asif

Senior Project Engineer at Matrix Solutions

Quader Asif has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Quader started their career as a Junior Engineer at SWMC in 1999. Quader then worked as an Environmental Engineer 2 at Finkbeiner, Pettis and Strout Inc., where they focused on designing components of water and wastewater treatment plants, implementing stormwater management and erosion control measures, and designing pumps for transporting water and wastewater.

In 2000, Asif became a Research Associate at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where they investigated the mercury transport phenomenon from sediments in a laboratory-scale experiment and applied numerical analysis to justify the laboratory results.

From 2001 to 2002, they worked at McMaster University as a Research Associate, where they performed research on channel-forming discharge for stream restoration projects. Their work involved applying advanced statistical procedures and hydrologic modeling, resulting in multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals.

In 2007, Asif joined MMM Group as a Water Resources Engineer, where they conducted hydrologic analysis to determine peak flows using various hydrologic models and performed hydraulic analysis of bridges and culverts using HEC-RAS, Flowmaster, and Culvertmaster.

Asif then joined Matrix Solutions, Inc. in 2014 as a Senior Project Engineer. Their responsibilities included conducting fluvial geomorphic assessments, natural channel design, erosion analyses, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and stream restoration and design.

Additionally, Asif has lectured at McMaster Mohawk Linkage Program as a Lecturer from 2012 to 2013.

Throughout their career, Asif has demonstrated expertise in various areas such as water resources engineering, channel restoration, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and environmental engineering.

Quader Asif has an impressive educational background in the field of Civil Engineering. Quader started their higher education journey in 1994 at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. This program extended until 1999, providing him with a strong foundation in their chosen field.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Asif continued to expand their knowledge and expertise by pursuing a Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Quader attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and was enrolled from 2000 to 2002. During this period, they delved deeper into the subject matter, gaining advanced comprehension in their field.

Asif's thirst for knowledge and desire to excel persisted, prompting him to pursue a doctorate degree in Civil Engineering. Quader enrolled at McMaster University in 2003 and successfully completed their Ph.D. program in 2007. The rigorous academic curriculum and research projects in this program provided him with a comprehensive understanding of Civil Engineering principles.

Additionally, Asif has obtained certifications in WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) and TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods). The details regarding the institution and the exact year and month of attainment are not available. Nonetheless, these certifications further highlight their dedication to continuous learning and professional development.
