Zoey Zimmer

Water Resources Engineer at Matrix Solutions

Zoey Zimmer began their work experience in 2013 as a USRA Research Assistant at the University of Guelph. During this time, they monitored wastewater levels in Guelph's wastewater sewers and conducted research on the factors influencing wastewater infrastructure failure. Zoey also investigated the impact of cistern size on the use of rainwater as a primary water source in rural Bangladesh. In addition, Zoey gained field engineering skills, collaborated with public sector engineers, familiarized herself with municipal guidelines, and wrote technical engineering articles.

In 2014, Zoey joined Matrix Solutions, Inc. as a Water Resources Engineer intern. In this role, they utilized their knowledge from their Environmental Engineering program and employed various hydrologic and hydraulic modelling programs. Zoey also led and managed long-term water-related field programs, conducted geomorphic assessments, and worked with programs such as Visual Otthymo, PCSWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GAWSER, MIKE SHE, and HSPF.

Zoey's work experience is focused on water resources engineering, with an emphasis on field work, data analysis, and modeling.

Zoey Zimmer has a strong educational background. Zoey obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Guelph, between 2003 and 2008. Later, from 2010 to 2014, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering from the same institution. In terms of additional certifications, Zoey completed the Duolingo Spanish Fluency: Beginner (Estimated) course in September 2015. Zoey also holds certifications in First Aid, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, and WHMIS, although the specific institutions and dates of attainment are not provided.
