Test Automation Engineer at Matroid

Ed Fancher has worked for a variety of companies since 1996. Ed began their career at U S WEST as an MTS Engineer (QA), writing and executing test plans and tests for a large scale, data intensive GIS system. From 1999-2000, they worked as a Software Tester for Cognex, automating testing of C++ libraries for industrial image processing software and hardware. Ed then moved to SOLSOFT SA as a QA Engineer, writing and maintaining test plans and test cases using Test Director and WinRunner for a Java based network security management system. In 2002, they took on a Senior QA Engineer role at MYCOM France, writing and executing test plans and test cases for a Java based wireless phone GIS system. From 2003-2009, they were a Senior SDET at Microsoft, responsible for creating test tools to test partner web services and creating/maintaining performance/stress testing scripts. Ed then moved to Yahoo! as a Senior QE, working on the Data and Analytics Team to process approximately 1 terabyte an hour of data to provide analysis and reports across the company. From 2013-2017, they worked as a Senior QE at Rackspace, the Open Cloud Company, responsible for the Identity product which is used by many teams across Rackspace. Finally, they are currently working as a Test Automation Engineer at Matroid since 2019.

Ed Fancher obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Wyoming between 1991 and 1996. In 2013, they obtained two certifications from Coursera: Introduction to Data Science and Computing for Data Analysis. Finally, they obtained a Master of Applied Statistics from Colorado State University between 2012 and 2016.
